Iditarod XXXVI field reaches 90

The Iditarod Trail Committee announced today that 90 mushers have signed up to run the 2008 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. The most recent mushers to sign up represent Belgium. Both mushers (Dries Jacobs and Sam Deltour) are rookies. At this time 29 rookies and 61 Iditarod race veterans are entered in IDITAROD XXXVI.

This year’s race continues to grow in international popularity as THE premier Sled Dog Race in the world. Mushers representing the United States, Canada, Norway, Germany, Belgium, and Italy are already entered in the 2008 Race.

Five Iditarod Champions head a field that is full of some of the most highly competitive teams in the world. 2007 Iditarod Champion Lance Mackey will be joined by five time Iditarod Champion Rick Swenson, four time Iditarod Champions Jeff King and Martin Buser, and the 2004 Iditarod Champion, Mitch Seavey.
