Iditarod and Cabelas web integration

The Iditarod Trail Committee and Cabela’s (The World’s Foremost Outfitter) are teaming up to offer Iditarod fans one place on the Web to get the most in-depth and up-to-the minute coverage of The Last Great Race in 2008.

Iditarod.com will integrate both Iditarod’s and Cabela’s race coverage, including current race reports by race veteran Jon Little, in order to deliver the most comprehensive, timely information at one convenient, centralized location. The new site on http://www.iditarod.com/ will go live in January, 2008. Cabela’s is also proud to announce that it is continuing its role as Presenting Sponsor of the Iditarod for the 2008 Race.

“Combining Cabela’s unique content, particularly Jon Little’s expert analysis of the race, along with everything the Iditarod provides on http://www.iditarod.com/ makes all the sense in the world,” said Stan Hooley, executive director of the Iditarod Trail Committee. “Our collaboration will enhance fans’ overall experience as they follow The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race form Start to Finish.”

“By integrating the compelling race coverage Cabela’s Iditarod site is known for with in-depth information direct from the Iditarod Trail Committee, we’ve created the ultimate Web site for fans of The Last Great Race,” said Tom Rosdail, Cabela’s vice president of marketing. “Everything fans want to know about the race is now just one click away.”

Jon Little will again follow mushers from Anchorage to Nome, during the 2008 Iditarod providing a unique look at what it takes to compete in The Last Great Race. Past race coverage, archived Iditarod articles, new fan discussion forums, and insight from Cabela’s will be available on the new site. Fans and followers of the Iditarod will find the most comprehensive collection of information in one place at http://www.iditarod.com/ .
