Leaders racing to weather front

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - (Monday, March 3, 2008) - It’s day two of the 36th edition of “The Last Great Race On Earth” and Mother Nature is already getting into the race. Nikolai Alaska is the first checkpoint that is on the north side of the Alaska Range and warmer temperatures are in the forecast for at the next two days. Day time highs are expected to be in the low 30’s with night time lows dropping slightly into the lower 20’s. Snow is in the forecast as well.

McGrath temperatures are also expected to climb. Snow is also in the forecast. Unseasonably warmer temperatures look like the norm along the Kuskokwim River until temperatures begin to cool down on again on Thursday, March 6th.
