Joe Garnie scratches in Rainy Pass

Musher Joe Garnie, (Bib #28) scratched at 11:15 am this morning at the Rainy Pass Checkpoint in the Alaska Range. The 54-year-old veteran Iditarod musher from Teller Alaska scratched citing health issues with his team. Garnie had thirteen dogs on has team at the time he decided to scratch.

Tom Roig scratches in Finger Lake

Musher Tom Roig, (Bib #94) scratched at 7:20 this morning at the Finger Lake Checkpoint in the Alaska Range. The 57-year-old rookie from Shreve Ohio cited health issues with himself and his team. The Finger Lake Checkpoint is situated near the steps of the Happy River.
