Had an incredible run from Takotna to Iditarod, blazing past race leaders Aaron Burmeister, Hugh Neff, and arriving in Iditarod gaining hours on his closest competitors. Iditarod Insider GPS Tracker tracked Mackey’s team at speeds up to ten miles per hour. the team’s quick pace on a trail that was very forgiving gave his team a great advantage. The question now is how much of a lead will Lance Mackey have after the other teams arrive in Iditarod, and who will be the first to leave the ghost town that is the namesake of “The Last Great Race”?
