<description>Dear:Zuma Hi my name is Benjamin and I am 8 years old. I would like to know how old you might be. I want to now how many dogs got dropped off in the race. How many mushers got scratched. My teacher tells me your favorite food is pizza. I like pizza too. But my favorite food is really spaghetti. Well I have to go to bed now for the night . I will email you again soon . You take care of your self. (Love Benjamin Lay)

Hello Benjamin,
You know, I don't even miss not eating pizza. I am enjoying my K-9 snacks that my human gives me.
Lots of Tail Wags,

		<description>Hello Jenny,

I think the best thing for you to do is research. Find out if other people run dogs in your area either with sleds or wheeled carts. Get in touch with people in your area and learn from them. That is the best thing for you to do.

<description>Hi Zumma, it is me again, Jenny,

I was wondering which breed of dogs would be best for me when starting my first team. My tarrain has lots of hills and sharp turns. Therefore, I need nimble, smart, fast dogs with high endurance. My team can only be three dogs at maximum. Traits I would for them to have are, loyalty, obedience, and the abiltiy to be social with me and their team mates. Can you think of any breeds that have all or most of thoses qualities?

Lots of waves,
Jenny</description>

		<description>Hi Zuma,
It is Jenny again. I would like to know how much kennel space a dog would need. Should I pen them together or seperately? How much sheltered space do they need from the sun, wind, rain and snow. Also, I need to know how much uncovered, enclosed space is necessary.
Jenny
P.S. I found a website that sells wheeled sleds, but I have’nt bought one yet.

Hello, Jenny!
Glad you found a wheeled cart! Shop around until you find what you need. As far as kennel space and kinds of kennels, that all depends on your dogs, what kind they are, how used to being out in the elements they are, and how much time you spend with them. Everyone does what works best for their dogs to keep them healthy and happy. Have fun learning and keep reading.

		<description>Hello Jenny!

Thanks for your email. I'm glad you'd like to run a team sometimes. Lots of people live in places like you without a lot of snow. They do run a cart with wheels instead of runners. Even mushers in Alaska use different kinds of wheeled vehicles when there isn't snow. You can search on the Internet for website that sell carts. I don't have a favorite cart store to help you along those lines! How much weight dogs pull and how long or often they need rest all depends on how well you've trained your dogs. Just like humans, dogs like and need snacks to keep them energized, so yes, you'd feed them on rest breaks. You've got great questions. Keep thinking and reading.

		<description>Hi Zuma,
My name is Jenny and I am ten, some day near at hand I hope to have a small sled dog team. The problem is, where I live we don't get a lot of snow so I need a wheeled sled. Could you tell me where to find the best plans for one. Oh, and the tires need to be mountain tires.
How much weight could a team of three huskies pull and for how long? When should I rest them and for how long? Should I feed them on rests and if so how much? Write back soon.

<description>Dear Cassie, Dirk, Steven, and Ms. Stock,

*Thanks for writing to me. No, I am not a mushing dog, I am a 'writing- dog-, I am a K-9 reporter. I can type using a big key board. You can see the key board and read more about me by clicking the article called, "Who am I?" that you see on this page. I know you'll love my 'puppy' pictures!

* The atmosphere at the finish of the race is very exciting. There are lots of hugs and pets for my fur friends who have just crossed the finish line.

* PS I tried to email your teacher at the email you gave me but the email bounced.

Lots of Tail Wags,

		<description>Hi Zuma,

The students in Ms. Stock's 5th grade class in Iowa want to know:

    * Have you ever been in a race?
    * What is the atmosphere at the finish line from the view of the mushers, the spectators, and the dogs?

    * How do you type if dogs don't know how to spell? Do you have spell check?

We are going to have a blizzard tomorrow. So, Iowa will look like Alaska!

Please send a reply to Cassie, Dirk and Steven. Thank you Zuma
                                                                     Love,
Cassie, Dirk, Steven and Ms. Stock
