Thanks for your comment, Meghan. K-9 athletes are a lot like human athletes. When a race is over, athletes continue their healthy life, stay physically fit, and training. Of course, they also take time to eat, play, and rest, too.

When the race is over, Meghan, the dogs go back to their kennel homes and continue to enjoy their days. Before long, the next training season begins.

Hey Libby, Im Hannah.
I am in the 7th grade in Maryland and my whole entire grade is following the iditarod races and learning about them. We are having a great time learning about the mushers and dogs and our anxious to see who will win. we our all competittive and have all picked a musher to root for.
My question for you is Do you have a musher/dogteam that you are rootin for to win.

What kind of snacks do dogs eat?
Do they eat stuff from the food pyramid: Bread, Fruits, Vegetables, Meat Poultry, and Dairy?
This would be kind of funny - do dogs have their own food pyramid of servings?

Hello Kendra,
Some dogs run faster than other dogs. A team of dogs runs only as fast as the slowest dog on the team. I am a very fast little dog, but I don’t pull a sled. I like to run in circles and get dizzy.
