how do i sign up to be a volenteer at the 2010 iditarod?

Hello! The best thing to do is to go to the www.iditarod.com website and click on the tab that says: Volunteers. After mid July, the site will be set up and accepting sign ups for volunteers for the next race. There will be lots of information there for you to read and links to click so you can get signed up to volunteer. Glad you are thinking about joining us! Lots of Tail Wags, Zuma

Thanks for the comment Celina. Where are the dogs? The sled dogs? WELL, the volunteer picnic and the musher sign up activities are HUMAN activities. The mushers didn't bring their dogs with them. The 'dogs' don't fill out the paper work to sign up for the race and the only food at the picnic was for humans.

The sled dogs were at their kennels enjoying their summer schedule of a delicious breakfast followed by rest, exercise, rest, exercise, a snack, and so forth!

NOW, there were a few K-9 fur friends at the picnic. Some sled dogs were 'working' and giving people rides on a wheeled cart. I saw Dee Dee Jonrowe walking around with a couple of her labs and I saw a couple volunteers walking around with their pets, too. BUT there were many, many, many more humans than K-9's.
