The Starting Line Up!

zuma-keyboard.jpg Hello Boys and Girls!

Can you believe the time is finally here?  The mushers and my fur friends will soon be headed to the starting line.  We know you are anxious to know the order that the mushers will head to the starting line.

Click here to see the starting order.  Remember, musher number 1 is the ‘honorary’ musher.  So the first musher to start the race is in position 2.

Get ready for some mushing! The race begins on Saturday.  The restart is on Sunday.  The race from Anchorage to Nome will soon begin!

Lots of Tail Wags,

Zuma

  1. Dear Zuma, This is Anson. You look so cute typing with your snout! How did you learn to type. You are a very good reporter. I noticed that your keyboard is the same as mine, only with bigger letters so you can type with your snout. Your Friend, Anson

  8. Dear Zuma,
Hi from the lower 48, actually we are almost exactly in the middle of the lower 48,a state that rhymes with Alaska! You guessed it, it’s Nebraska!
Anyhoo, I have a question for you. Why did the Iditarod Trail Committe change the way in which the order of the musher’s are picked? Didn’t it use to be the first one that signed up at the summer musher’s picnic got the 2nd starting position? What made them change the procedure?
Thanks for answering, you do a phenomenal job of writing. We are learning a lot from the articles on Zuma’s Paw Prints. Thanks for keeping us informed and on top of the lastest news!

    Hello Nebraska!
Actually, a couple years ago, a decision was made to try letting the first musher to sign up be the first starting positions. That year, Lance picked his lucky number! The next year, the rule went back to the way it is this year….
